Trump Announces Ban of Boeing 737 Max Flights

President Trump announced on Wednesday that the United States is building a Boeing 737 Max, in contrast to a previous decision by US regulators to keep aircraft flying after the fatal crash Ethiopia.

For several days, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has resisted calls to stop the plane, despite the ban on safety flights by safety regulators in some 42 countries. On Tuesday, the agency said it had not seen “any problems with regular performance” that would prompt it to stop flights.

On Tuesday morning, Boeing CEO, Dennis A. Moylenburg, Mr. Trump to personally express his confidence in the safety of the aircraft, according to two people who were briefed on the conversation.
